Hostilities and limited conflict started in parts of Western Tigray / Welkite last week. With Tigrayan regional forces occupying some districts in the zone.

Flights were and remain temporarily suspended to all Tigray airports.

In the last 24 hours federal forces have made several air strikes targeting locations that are within the Tigray “Tourism triangle” from Mekele - Hawzen- Axum - Adigrat - Mekele.

At this time travel to Tigray is definitely not recommended.
