Addis remains and has remained safe and calm. Everything in the city is normal (from an Ethiopian stand point). There are no extra security checks, not extra security personnel for the most part. However this weeks is the Irreeychaa festival when a lot of Oromos from outside come to celebrate in the city. This causes some tensions and there will be checkpoints and additional security personnel.

Reports of drone strikes on military sites in the city (on night on 30Sep/1 Oct) are as of yet unconfirmed, and if true are a surprising escalation.
